He Beat Prostate Cancer with Robotic Surgery

Bekir Tufan, 54, diagnosed with prostate cancer at Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, regained his health after robotic surgery.
Retired from the police department, Tufan started experiencing health problems last year and went to the hospital. After tests in the urology department, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Although his doctors recommended surgery, Tufan postponed it due to fear. When his health problems recurred, he was examined and operated on with robotic surgery at Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, and was discharged in a short time.
LESS BLEEDING AND PAIN
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Koç and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Özlem İlbey, who performed the robotic radical prostatectomy, said the operation was successful. Koç stated that robotic surgeries offer great advantages for patients: "The surgery is performed through small incisions instead of large cuts. After surgery, there is less bleeding and pain, patients return to daily activities faster, and hospital stays are shorter. With robotic surgery technology, we can perform all urological surgeries such as kidney, bladder, and prostate."
Bekir Tufan, who was happy to regain his health quickly, said, "The surgery process was quite easy and comfortable for me. I thank my doctors and the entire team involved in my treatment."
